  • Port: Default 22, but your hosting provider might put it on something different for security by obscurity.

Add/replace these values in /etc/ssh/sshd_config and restart the service.

Check to make sure those are enabled.

You can also easily disable password authentication for SSH from WHM.  That’s in WHM -> Home -> Security Center -> SSH Password Authorization Tweak.  But if you need your hosting provider to be able to SSH into your server with a password, please enable that before you submit a ticket.
